What We Leave Behind: A Reflection on Possessions, Impermanence, and the Essence of Who We Are

By Adriana — Emanating Crystals

Recently, I found myself standing before my mother’s belongings — her shoes, her clothing, the small treasures she once held dear. In that moment, it became profoundly clear that these items, which had accompanied her through so many chapters of life, no longer belonged to her. She had journeyed onward, leaving behind everything she once touched, loved, and carried.

It was a powerful reminder of something we often forget: nothing material truly belongs to us. We are temporary visitors in this world, yet we spend so much of our time rushing, accumulating, and attaching ourselves to possessions in the hope that they will bring comfort or meaning. In doing so, many of us drift further from our true nature — becoming heavier, darker, and emptier within.

While material objects have their place in our human experience, it is essential to remember that our uncorrupted essence is rooted in qualities far deeper than anything we can own. Our true nature is built upon faith, love, integrity, and the alignment of thought, word, and deed. These are the qualities that endure. These are the qualities we take with us.

Yet, instead of honouring this inner purity, we often run from our own conscience. We fall into judgment, resentment, and the illusion that we are here forever. We behave as though time is abundant, when in truth, our time in this world is fleeting.

My mother’s passing reminded me that what remains after we leave is not the collection of things we owned, but the imprint of how we lived — the love we offered, the kindness we shared, the truth we embodied, and the light we carried.

May we remember to live with intention. May we choose what truly matters. May we honour the soul more than the storage cupboard.

And may we walk gently, knowing that everything we hold in our hands is temporary — but everything we hold in our heart is eternal.

Sun gazing . .

Entrainment by the sun allows us to shut off the internal chatter of our ego and experience the quiet mind.

These tools help to give greater clarity to our thinking, speed up our rate of vibration and bring us into harmony with all life on the planet.

The choice is ours….

“Come to the edge of the cliff,” he said.

“No! We are afraid,” the children answered.

“Come to the edge of the cliff,” he said again.

They came. He pushed them and they flew.

Who is he?

Our divine core… the living truth of Love.

Free your mind from the matrix: Divide et impera: the game of ‘us and them.’
